About us
I thought it would be fun to read a bunch of books from the same year to get a variety of perspectives on what it was like to live at that time.
Going back 100 years sets an easy landmark - in 2026 we read books from 1926 and in the new year we will read books from 1927. Looking for adventurous readers up for a challenge! The goal is to have fun, stimulating discussions about the books. All curious readers are welcome!

Radclyffe Hall - Adam's Breed
New Seasons Market - Woodstock, 4500 SE Woodstock Blvd, Portland, OR, USGroundbreaking feminist author Radclyffe Hall is best known today for The Well of Loneliness (1928) - a depiction of lesbian relationships that was the subject of a famous obscenity trial when it was released. Two years earlier, she won the James Tait Black and Prix Femina awards for this novel, originally called Food, which is both a charming presentation of Italian immigrants in early 20th c. London and a compelling analysis of the individual's quest for meaning.
