Radclyffe Hall - Adam's Breed

Groundbreaking feminist author Radclyffe Hall is best known today for The Well of Loneliness (1928) - a depiction of lesbian relationships that was the subject of a famous obscenity trial when it was released. Two years earlier, she won the James Tait Black and Prix Femina awards for this novel, originally called Food, which is both a charming presentation of Italian immigrants in early 20th c. London and a compelling analysis of the individual's quest for meaning.
