Introduction to TPL Dataflow with Atiq Mir

We'll start with how Dataflow architecture differs from von Neumann architecture and allows you to do multi-tasking without Locks. This will lead to introduction to Actor Based Programming Model and TPL Dataflow. We'll write a sample C# program using TPL Dataflow to illustrate its multi-tasking capabilities.

Atiq started in software development 25 years ago when taught himself how to program in Visual Basic in his teen years. Ever since he has programmed in multiple platforms, including Mainframes, Unix, and Windows, and in dozen or so software languages, including C#, C/C++, and Java. For the past 8 years or so he’s been focusing on the full stack of Microsoft .NET technologies with C# as his language of choice. He lives in Broomfield, CO with his wife and two beautiful kids and when he’s not busy with the family, provides custom software development services through his company Mirway, Inc.
