Let's Take a Ceramics Class! (Educational Series)

Details
Hey guys,
This event is a really cool opportunity for us to partake in a ceramic making class. This IS a ticketed event and has limited space. This is part of a new series of events that I would like to host which are educational outings throughout SF to help support local businesses.
About the Class:
This meetup includes a hands-on ceramic making class. Our instructor, Mel, will be leading the class while teaching us how to make up to 3 different pieces that you can take home! Students learn how to pinch pot, slab roll, and the basics of throwing clay on a wheel. The event is a mini crash course in pottery where everyone will hand-build fully functional pieces that are food/microwave/oven/dishwasher safe. (finished pieces need to be picked up 2-3 weeks after the class).
Along with making up to 3 functional pieces, we'll also have access to some beer, wine, n/a drinks, and snacks to help with the mixing and mingling portions of this event.
Cost & Attendee Space:
This event is going to be limited to 30 students. The cost of the 3 hour course will be $100. That includes everything I've listed above. I'm still working with the owner of the shop to figure out the best way to handle the cost. It's likely I'll collect the money and pay for all of the attendees when we attend the class.
Please only RSVP if you're serious about attending and willing to pay the $100 ticket for the experience. I will need to collect the money a week in advance and give an exact attendee count.
There are also some really cool restaurants in the area so anyone who wants to keep the vibe going can come with us for an early Sunday dinner.
About the Owner/Instructor:
Melissa Rice lives and works on the coast of San Francisco, California. She is a professional production potter and runs a community pottery school at her very own STUDIO CERAMICA in the Outer Richmond District. Mel was born in Kansas and moved to Puebla, Mexico in grade school. She returned to the States shortly after high school to pursue her degree in Baking & Pastry in New York. Great food, the Pacific Ocean, and good weather brought her to San Francisco over 20 years ago. You'll often find Mel, a single mother of a little girl and dog-parent with an affinity for Mastiffs, running around with a tool in her hands and a project in mind.
A hands-on artist, Mel built this studio with her blood, sweat, and tears. All of the worktables, counters, flooring, walls, painting, shelving, and everything else was done by Mel's hands. Melissa has developed a simple, clean way of designing functional ceramic pieces for any room and is inspired by the sight, the smell, and sound of the Pacific Ocean. The pottery wheel is where she feels the most prolific and teaching pottery is second nature to her.
Hope to see you there,
Arthur
