Wednesday Happy Hour @ Nitty's Cider

Hey everyone! This June's temps have been surprisingly mild, but that doesn't mean we can't partake in some not-so-mild beverages to cool off anyway.

Nitty's Cider's tasting room includes a huge outdoor patio coupled with plenty of indoor seating for when the temps cool down, and the vast space is outmatched only by the massive breadth of their cider offerings. They often have a food truck on site (I'll let you know for sure when I have that info), and there are plenty of options for food within just a couple of blocks, including Obo, Kru, and Habit Burger.

They also have free Skeeball on Wednesdays!

Wednesday Happy Hour is a recurring biweekly series in which we all gather round at a bar-type establishment in the Sacramento area - usually near Midtown/Downtown. The purpose of this event is to get together, meet new friends, socialize with old ones, and have a relaxing hump day beverage (alcoholic or otherwise!). Show up any time you like, and leave any time you like - there's no schedule! Every event features a different establishment, so even if this week's doesn't interest you, make sure to stay tuned for the next one.

NITTY'S CIDER TASTING ROOM

Clarksburg-based Nitty's Cider opened this Sacramento tasting room in 2022. Owner Nick Vellenworth said "We wanted to have a satellite location in Sacramento where people could come and try our ciders rather than having to drive out to Clarksburg. We have 16 different ciders on tap. In the future we plan to also have wine but right now we are only selling cider."

Some of the alcoholic flavors on tap at Nitty's Cider include strawberry lemonade, lemon lavender, dragonfruit raspberry, pineapple jalapeño, mango jalapeño, dry cider, strawberry mint and guava. Vellanoweth said he makes between 50 and 60 different-flavored ciders.

"With our layout, we want people to come out, relax and enjoy themselves, and they can also enjoy a cider outside where we have some tables and benches set up," he said. "Our flavors range from dry to sweet, so hopefully everyone can find one that fits their palate."
