Well-Seasoned Women

Sacramento, CA

Well-Seasoned Women

We are a group of dynamic retired or semi-retired women over 50. We live in the greater Sacramento area and are ready to star in the next stage of life. Our meetups take place from Lodi to Rocklin, from Davis to Placerville, and every place in between. We are looking for women with positive attitudes willing to contribute to their own growth and success as well as that of the community. We are interested in maintaining strong minds and bodies. We believe in moving forward and giving back. Most of our activities take place weekdays, and some will include spouses and SO's. Please note that we strive to maintain a “drama-free” environment.

We are always looking for help, so email the leadership team if you are interested in hosting events. Due to size and liability issues we do not permit members to bring guests to events held in private homes or to events limited in number.

EXPECTATIONS:

· Annual Membership Dues Required: $5. Dues payment required within 30 days of joining. Meetup charges for the right to post our events. We use these funds to pay fees, provide paper products at our potluck events, and host an annual anniversary party. No refunds are offered.

Many of our events require payment in advance. It is not required but is strongly encouraged and preferred that payment be made using electronic means, such as PayPal, PopMoney, etc.

· All members must post a profile picture (head shot) of themselves and have a valid email address within 30 days of joining. A picture of you must be posted in order to attend your first event with this group. We are often opening our homes to our members. This is a safety issue for those who do so and for those who attend. Please let us know if there is an issue of personal security that prevents you from doing this. We are happy to accommodate.

· Members often would like to share rides to events. It is up to the person(s) looking for a ride to obtain one. We are unable to offer carpools to our members due to liability issues. When securing a ride with another member, it is the rider’s responsibility to require adequate car insurance, safety of vehicle, and competence of driver. Any monetary contributions are to be arranged between the driver and the rider. WSW and its members assume no responsibility in the event of accident or injury.

Attendance: Any individual with (3) “no shows” (includes canceling the morning of the event) or a history of “late bail outs” (canceling the day/night before the event) will have future RSVP’s removed and be placed on a waitlist to allow members in good standing to attend. Those who get moved from the waitlist the morning of an event and do not attend will also be charged a “no show.” Those with 5 late bail outs will be removed from the group. We have a firm 10-minute wait rule for events. Those who RSVP and are late may be left behind. It is your responsibility to take care and manage your own RSVPs – including your place on a waitlist. This means changing your RSVP to “no” when you are unable to attend an event so that those on the waitlist above you are able to move up.

· The organizers reserve the right to remove anyone from the group who violates these rules, does not fit the parameters of our group, has not paid dues, has a negative impact on the group, or endangers the safety and security of our members. This is a group for retired women and not a dating site.

· This group does not support promotion of any kind, including marketing, products, or people. Any postings or actions of this type will be removed along with the person who posted it.

· We love our pets – at home! Due to allergies and liability issues, please do not bring pets to events. Please know that many of our members who host events in their homes do have pets. It is your responsibility to inquire if you have issues with pets.

· Don’t forget to check out our Facebook Group page!

· If you owe dues and haven't visited our group in over 6 months, you will be automatically removed from the group.

By joining Well-Seasoned Women, you automatically agree to the terms of this release. This agreement releases Well-Seasoned Women (WSW) from all liability relating to injuries that may occur {during activity, on location, at members’ homes, etc. By joining, I agree to hold WSW and all associated parties entirely free from any liability, including financial responsibility for injuries incurred, regardless of whether injuries are caused by negligence.

I also acknowledge the risks involved in scheduled meetups. These include but are not limited to hiking, wine tasting, volunteering, cooking, swimming, working out. I swear that I am participating voluntarily, and that all risks have been made clear to me. Additionally, I do not have any conditions that will increase my likelihood of experiencing injuries while engaging in this activity.

By joining this group, I forfeit all right to bring a suit against Well-Seasoned Women for any reason. I will also make every effort to obey safety precautions as listed in writing and as explained to me verbally. I will ask for clarification, if needed.

If you owe dues and haven't visited the group on the web for over 6 months, you will be automatically dropped from the group. However, you may reapply to join.

Baby Boomer Singles

Sacramento, CA

Baby Boomer Singles

Thank you for checking us out. We got together and decided that the time was right for a truly welcoming group targeting the single baby boomers in our community. No need to sit home anymore, give us some ideas for fun activities and we will make it happen. Our goal is to have an environment where everyone is welcomed and feels comfortable. We are NOT a "dating" group. We are a social group enabling singles to find friends and enjoy activities.

By the way, Baby Boomers are those born between 1946 and 1964.

We would like to point out the following, so things will run smoothly:

1. We now charge an annual membership fee of $5.00 to cover administrative fees, membership fees, and supplies. If you choose to join our group, you will have a 180-day trial period (due to coronavirus restrictions) before you need to pay dues. Come check us out and see if we are a good fit foor you!

2 We require a RECENT CLOSE PHOTO OF YOUR FACE, YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAME OR INITIAL and YOUR BIRTH YEAR to be approved in the group.

3. New members are encouraged to attend a HOSTED event for their first event so they are greeted and introduced to members. Some of our events are non-hosted (no name tags, no one to officially welcome members) and those are better to attend once a new member has been to a few hosted events.

4. When you are planning to attend any event you need to RSVP (YES) and if for any reason you can't attend that event you need to change your RSVP to (NO). (This is very important). If you can't get to a computer to RSVP (NO) you can email us to let us know you can't attend and why. Due to the large number of member "No-Shows" and in fairness to the rest of the group, anyone who No-Shows 4 times will be removed from the group.

5. When attending a physically active event (hiking, biking, walking, etc.) please participate at your own risk. The Baby Boomers are not liable for any injury or health issues you may have.

We look forward to seeing you at your first event!

CIRCLE of Homeschoolers

Citrus Heights, CA

CIRCLE of Homeschoolers

CIRCLE of Homeschoolers - (Children Involved in a Respectful Cooperative Learning Environment)

WHO ARE WE? We are homeschoolers. You can use an umbrella school, some families use a private school affidavit, most use a local homeschool charter school. Regardless of means, method, or philosophy we all just homeschool. We have kids of all ages from babies to teens and we plan a variety of activities that will appeal to all ages, as well as some that are specific to particular age groups.

WHAT WE DO AND WHERE? We typically have several events a week and for the most part they are held in Fair Oaks, Folsom, and Roseville then wherever else our adventures take us! Our events include park days, field trips, educational days, holiday parties, creek days, classes, etc. are held throughout the surrounding areas.

OUR ATMOSPHERE! To help our group thrive we need our group events to be harmonious. We like our events to be peaceful, inclusive, and filled with kindness. We try to avoid having an atmosphere that includes yelling, being unkind or harsh, or filled with drama. This goes for both the parents and the kids.

We do ask that all older kids remember that they are influencing the younger crowd and that they behave appropriately. We do not allow cursing, name-calling, or destructive/disrespectful behavior at our events. We can share information on our favorite curriculum and our favorite homeschool classes while our kids have a chance to learn and play together knowing that they are in a safe environment. If parents need to address issues with their kids, we ask that it is done so in a respectful way.

PARTICIPATION This group requires in-person participation and support from its members to be successful. We ask that each family contribute by hosting an event in some way: by setting up a field trip or tour, hosting a co-op, opening up their homes for an event, planning a park day, planning a themed park day, etc. With each family planning at least ONE event per year (you can even plan an event with a friend) we can greatly enrich our homeschool year. There are many ways you can help, just let us know what your strengths are and what you can offer to the group. When you know what you want to do, send me the information and I will post it on Meetup.

FEES This group does require an annual fee. Dues, $15.00 per family, are good through OCTOBER 2022. This will fund the Meetup.com site, but will also help the group by having people actually commit to being a part of it. Often free groups have lots of lookers without many active participants. By charging a fee, people tend to feel more committed and want to "get their money's worth" from the group by attending events and participating.

PROCESS TO JOIN We do require that you complete the profile questions (so we can learn about you), that you have a profile picture of yourself and/or your kids (this is so we can find you at the meetups), and attend an event or two before your membership is approved. Upon requesting to join, I will send you the details of the next three “Park Days” on our calendar, for a free trial if you will. Our Park Days can be simple to just get together and sometimes are themed and we are having a party or special activity. You do not need to arrive “on time” to Park Days as they are fluid and people come and go as their schedule allows. So if you will be an hour late that will be fine - the only exception is if it is a themed day because there will be a start time for activities so you may miss out if late. If that won’t bother you or your kids then still try to come! After attending at least one event should you decide the group is a good fit for your family, pay the annual dues, and the approval will be made.

LASTLY, WE ARE A NUT-FREE GROUP. Okay, we may be nutty homeschoolers, but because of the life-threatening allergies of some of our members, we do not allow nuts of any kinds (including peanut butter and other nut butters) at any of our events. If your food says it may be processed at a facility with nuts, it's okay to bring. If it contains nuts, it is not. [If you can only think of foods containing peanuts now and need an alternative; my kids like sunbutter (it’s made from sunflower seeds) better than peanut butter.]

If our group sounds like a good fit for you so far, please click above to join!! We look forward to meeting you and your homeschooling family soon!!

Sacramento Area Golfers

Sacramento, CA

Sacramento Area Golfers

Welcome to the Sacramento Area Golfers (SAG). We are a co-ed group of intermediate to advanced golfers who participate in golfing events around the Sacramento area, other cities and countries! We travelled together to So. Africa (2016), Scotland (2017), SE Asia (2019), and planning Australia/New Zealand 2021!! We usually play 18 holes but on occasion will play a 9 hole course after work, or join group practice sessions to build on our golfing skills. We try to follow USGA guidelines to the best of our abilities. The bottom line is, we just want to golf, enjoy each other's company, and have fun! We DO try to observe the basics of golfing etiquette.

Minimum requirements to play with SAG:
- At least one year experience playing 18 hole courses. This group is not for beginning golfers.
- Average score less than 110-115. (If you're average score is closer to 120-130 you will need to increase your skill level before playing with us)
-Know the basic rules of golf and golf etiquette
-You must have a recognizable photo of yourself on your member profile
-Please make sure that you have your first and last name on your member profile

Please know the basic rules of golf and golf etiquette before you play with our group.

Being focused on your "Pace of Play", playing "Ready Golf", and adhering to golf etiquette are very important concepts in our group. Less experienced golfers can play well with more experienced golfers when these rules are followed.

Please be aware of our RSVP cancellation policy:
"Members who cancel within 48 hours of an event must donate $20 to SAG's Membership Fund at
https://paypal.me/sacareagolfers Members are removed from SAG at Organizer's discretion after 3 no-shows. Please be courteous and remove your RSVP if you can’t attend an event".

Whether you participate in our golf outings or our non-golf social events, you are responsible for any damages or injuries you cause to property or other persons. You are participating at SAG events at your own risk, and neither the Organizer nor the Event Organizers will be liable for damages or injuries caused by any of our members (or their guests) during our meetups or travel to and from our meetups. SAG is also not liable for any injuries inflicted upon it members or damages done to members' properties or loss of properties (including golf equipment, transportation, etc.) during events and travel to and from our meetups. SAG members are responsible for reimbursing SAG for any incurred costs associated with your event cancellation.

Skyrocket Your Social Life, Self-Confidence and Happiness

Sacramento, CA

Skyrocket Your Social Life, Self-Confidence and Happiness

Maybe you are an introvert, and you think that is just the way you are, and you can't do anything about it, but this belief about yourself is untrue. Chances are that NO ONE HAD EVER SHOWED YOU how to improve your social life, how to improve your communication skills, or how to improve your self-confidence! I know this because I have talked to thousands of people who consider themselves introverts, and last time I had checked, they don't teach these topics in schools!

Don't worry though, because in this group we will teach these topics in our meetup events. It is going to take some learning and some work, but you CAN change your social life, you CAN improve your self-confidence and happiness. You will learn HOW in this group.

Think about it. How many of us have given up on something because it was the easy thing to do?

The thing to remember is that the thing that stops you is not other people. It is yourself. If you don't make the effort to make the change, you won't change. If you have decided that you can't, then of course you won't. The truth is that we have convinced ourselves of our own limitations, when in actual fact we are creatures of no limits.

In this group, we will have Zoom meetup events to talk about how to overcome our mental and emotional barriers. We will talk about relationships, and how to make friends and maybe get back to dating again. We will talk about how to improve our social life and communication skills.

I am the organizer and instructor for this group. I have been helping people with self-confidence, relationships, and communication skills professionally for over 20 years. I will teach you knowledge and tools that no one had ever taught you before in our free group meetings.

Excited? I know I am! See you at our upcoming group meetings!

This group and its events are brought to you by the Dianetics and Scientology life improvement information center in Sacramento, California.

Community members asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If a community member engages in harassing behavior, the organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender, expulsion from the SWWC community, and/or asking the bar we’re present at to expel the offender. If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact an SWWC organizer immediately, or as soon as you feel comfortable doing so.

We ask members to actively participate and be respectful of the organizers and other members. Members must RSVP to events in good faith and update their RSVP status immediately if they are unable to attend. Members are expected to meet minimum attendance requirements to remain in the group:
