This is really cool trail close to town that follows a ridge that gives great views of the valleys on either side of the trail. There are usually lots of pretty wildflowes too! Keep in mind this trail is open, higher up, and has no shade from rain or sun.

(The way I usually go is, I drive on Pattee Canyon Rd and go past Pattee Canyon Trailhead parking lot, eventually turn right onto the gated Forest Service Rd 2127-1, and follow that until I get to the trailhead. I think there is an alternate route from Miller Creek, but I’ve never done it.).
Driving Disclaimer:
The last 3 miles of the drive to the trailhead involves travelling on Forest Service Rd 2127-1. This FSR is seasonally open from May 16th to November 24th and involves some gravel driving along a mountain ridge with drop offs on one side and some potholes. I think it shoulf be snow and ice free by now, but please use caution when driving. If you are not comfortable with mountain driving then please consider carpooling with someone.
