2.2 Mile Nationwide Walk for Mission 22

Details
EVENT DESCRIPTION:
Join us for the 2025 Mission 22 National Awareness Walk — right here in Las Cruces.
On Saturday, May 24, local Ambassadors across all 50 states will lead 2.2-mile walks to support Mission 22—a nonprofit dedicated to ending veteran suicide and supporting those affected by the invisible wounds of war. This coordinated nationwide event will raise awareness of critical issues impacting our veterans, including Post-Traumatic Stress (PTS), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Military Sexual Trauma (MST), and other related issues.
I’ll be hosting our Las Cruces walk at La Llorona Park (3440 W Picacho Ave, Las Cruces, NM, 88007) at 0900 in the grassy area by the parking lot and the bridge.
After a brief welcome and introduction, I’ll share the purpose behind Mission 22 and why this walk matters. From there, we’ll walk north along the river pathway for 1.1 miles before turning around and returning to the park — a symbolic 2.2 miles for the 22 veterans a day who lose their lives to suicide.
This is more than just a walk. It’s a chance to talk, connect, and show our veterans that they are not alone, and raise money for Mission 22 programs.

WHY 2.2 MILES?
This distance represents the 22 veterans lost to suicide every single day. Mission 22 is working to change that — offering long-term programs for veterans, support for families, and community-based solutions across the country.
Let’s walk together for those who can’t. Let’s speak up for those who feel silenced. Let’s take steps that save lives.
