What we’re about

22 Walk was organized to promote exercise as a means of improving mental health and to raise awareness about the issue of veterans' suicide. 22 Walk is open to all individuals who want to participate and show their support for the cause.
The event aims to highlight the positive impact that physical activity can have on mental well-being and to emphasize the importance of seeking help when struggling with mental health issues.
The 22 distance holds significant symbolism as it represents the approximate number of veterans who die by suicide every day in the United States. By walking this distance, participants will symbolically bear the burden of those lost to suicide and honor their memory. The aim is to shed light on the concerning suicide rates among veterans and to encourage open conversations around mental health.
During the walks, participants will have the opportunity to engage in discussions about mental health, suicide prevention, and the challenges faced by veterans. This will provide a supportive environment for individuals to share their experiences and offer guidance to those who may be struggling.
