Visit Golitha Falls and try your hand at watercolouring....RESCHEDULED EVENT
Details
We will meet in the car park, by Inkie's café, at 10.00 am. Golitha Falls (pronounced Gol-eye-tha) are a series of cascades and waterfalls along a section of the River Fowey as it makes its way through the ancient and utterly enchanting, oak woodland of Draynes Wood.
Over 120 moss species and more than 50 different kinds of liverwort grow in the reserve. You’ll also be struck by how the sound of the water changes along the course of the falls.
Having enjoyed a wander around the falls, we will find a suitable spot to paint. You may wish to bring a folding chair or blanket to sit on. I paint for the love of it, so the £10.00 cost is entirely for quality materials, which I will supply - they do make all the difference and I will explain why. This activity will suit complete beginners (I truly believe anyone can paint, with a little direction and practice) or more advanced painters. You are welcome to join me afterwards for lunch or take your masterpieces straight home🖼
I recommend stout footwear: walking boots or shoes and old comfy clothes you don't mind getting paint on. Although watercolour should wash out, we may use a little Titanium White Acrylic paint to highlight the cascading water🤞🏻
You are respectfully reminded that the paths are close to various water sources, and you are present at your own risk. I personally believe it is sensible to carry water, a 24-hour first aid kit, a hat, waterproof, and sunscreen, but I leave that to your discretion.
Dogs, which are well-behaved, are always welcome on our walks. They will need to be on a lead on the roads and near more turbulent water. When we are painting they will need to lie quietly or go back to the car...sorry pups!
