Black Professionals is starting off the Summer Strong with a meetup in: Philadelphia
The Roots Picnic is going to be JAM PACKED this year with talent for everyone to enjoy with the headliners being Jay-Z and Erykah Badu 🙌🏽 and we wanted to bring Chicago into the Mix!
How will all this work?
—Official Meetup activities will start Friday 5/29 and conclude Monday 6/1. But folks can fly in and out at their leisure!
—Flights: All members will have to secure their own flights to 🛫 and from 🛬 the weekend event.
—Roots Tickets 🎟️: we have purchased GA+ and in the pictures below you can see what comes with GA+.
They do offer a payment plan system for anyone who wants to breakup the costs so it’s not all one lump sum.

—Hotel/Airbnb Stay: All members will be responsible for their own lodging. If members decide to room/stay with each other that is fine with the organizers.
However, we (the organizers) will not 🚫 be responsible for interpersonal disagreements that may arise from members deciding to room/stay together for this event.
We Strongly Encourage folks to communicate expectations, preferences, boundaries, etc. BEFORE paying for shared lodging so as to avoid misunderstandings during your time in Philadelphia.
Examples of disagreements that the organzers will not likely mediate, as we expect all adults to have confirmed and/or consented with each other for the kind of arrangements listed below, include but are not limited to:
—payment arrangements for lodging
—room arrangements
—having guests/family/friends over though safety is paramount and a conversation should be had PRIOR to inviting non-paying guests into lodging spaces
As a friendly reminder: ANY behavior that is not up to Chicago Black Professional Standards in terms of respecting the venue, regulations, and/or each other’s boundaries can result in being removed from the group 🙅🏽♀️🙅🏾
Friday Welcome Hangout 🥘: Depending on the set up the hosts may offer a Meetup at a shared Airbnb OR might make reservations at a restaurant for up to 10.
Monday See You Back Breakfast 🍳: Depending on departure dates we may try to host a breakfast at a local spot for those who will be in town on Monday.
Details will be provided in the comments closer to the event if we host the dinner/breakfast!
