Festival of Lights work day

Our fifth annual Festival of Lights work day. It is a service project and a chance for us to make some money too. Festival of Lights is a wonderful non profit that brings joy to the holiday season with a walk thru beautiful lighted Christmas wonderland at Darboy Community Park. The Festival of Lights partners with non profit agencies by offering one work day and one event day. The non profit gets a portion of monies raised. In years past we made $1200 to $1700. We get the park ready for the holidays by setting up displays, stringing walk ways with lights or transforming the park's shelter into a place for kids to sit on Santa's lap. We are the crew and staff from Festival of Lights show us what they need done. They provide plenty of coffee and hot cocoa and a nice lunch. We need to provide 5 volunteers but my hope is we get 10 Kiwanians to sign up so we can shorten our shifts. Dress for outside and bring work gloves and boots. I have done it every year and it is fun!
