If you work in the digital sector, and want to get out and about with good company, our social hiking group is for you! Join us for a memorable trek across the Peak District, as we take on the Higher Shelf Stones short walk and pay a visit to the Bleaklow plane crash site.

It's our way of shaking off the business pressure and reconnecting – with nature and each other. Simple as that. Fancy coming along?

Where? We're meeting at this car park (Google maps pin) Here's a map link: Snake Pass Map.
Snake Pass (A57), Glossop, Derbyshire, Peak District National Park.
When? Saturday, October 8, 2023, starting from the car park 10:30 AM.

About the Route
Beginning at Snake Pass, our 4-mile circular route promises an adventure through moorlands, a summit of one of the Peak District's highest spots, and a visit to a historically significant plane crash site. This walk might be short, but with varying weather conditions at the higher altitudes, it can be quite the challenge! Expect around 1.5-2 hours of walking.

What to Bring
The route is gentle, but let's make sure we’re prepared for the day. Remember to pack some snacks and enough water to keep you hydrated throughout the trek. And as we'll be navigating through muddy terrains and some challenging paths, do wear sturdy, slip-proof shoes. Pair them with warm socks to ensure your feet remain comfortable and protected. It's all about enjoying the day while staying safe and cozy! See you out there!

Who Are We?

***

We're a group of diverse digital agency owners from the North who decided that we can do a whole lot better together than alone. From the busy streets of Manchester to the moors of Yorkshire, we've been everywhere, seen a lot, and sometimes, felt a little lost in the crowd.

That's where the idea of this group sprang up. It's simple, really: when you're surrounded by people who know the grind, the journey feels a bit lighter, and the wins, a lot sweeter.

Why did we start this group? Because behind the client meetings, late-night projects, and the buzzing notifications, we all seek that human connection, a moment of calm and shared camaraderie. And that's where this hike comes in.

What's The Deal With This Hike?
Let's face it, there's nothing like a good hike to blow off some steam. But it's not just about stretching the legs. It's a chance to break away from the screens, breathe in some fresh air, and have a real conversation. Not a text, not a ping, but face-to-face chatter where you can actually see the other person laugh or ponder a thought.

Who's This For?

***

Fancy a walk? Whether you are a freelancer, an agency owner, marketer content writer or paid ads mastermind, this hike's for you. It's for those who've:

  • Ever felt the weight of running a digital agency and just needed to get out and breathe.
  • Wanted a bit of fresh perspective, and hey, some fresh air.
  • Felt the need to connect, not via Wi-Fi, but with nature and fellow entrepreneurs.
  • Wished they could chat about the day-to-day while admiring the view from Higher Shelf Stones.

If this sounds like you, lace up those hiking boots.

What Can You Expect?

  • A 6.1-km loop with some superb views, especially if Mother Nature's in a good mood.
  • A bit of history, with the resting place of an American bomber plane.
  • Some uneven patches. It's a hike, after all, so watch your step and maybe don't wear those new trainers.
  • Real, hearty conversations with folks who get you.
  • The option for a cosy pub lunch afterwards. A pint, a pie, and perhaps more stories to share?

The Logistics:
Park your car at the Snake Pass lay-by. It's free, but on weekends it can get crowded. As of January 2022, some bits have those pesky double yellow lines. So, check before you park.

If you're not sure where that is, here's a map link: Snake Pass Map.

Oh, and if you’ve got friends who’d enjoy a walk and a chat, bring 'em along!

Vibe Check:
This isn’t a race, nor is it some kind of extreme adventure challenge. It's just a relaxed hike with some good company. It’s about taking a breather, having some genuine conversations, and enjoying the simpler things in life.
