Angular Boulder - I'm not ready for NgRx! (by Jesse Sanders)

DESCRIPTION:

Building applications for the modern web can be complicated and there are so many different approaches out there. Everyone seems to be talking about using NgRx to solve all of their problems, but maybe I'm not ready for that. The idea of writing actions, reducers, effects, and selectors seems like too much work for me right now; there has to be some middle ground that I can start with!

We will be diving into an alternative approach to using NgRx for developing applications, while understanding concepts that can be applied later to such patterns. We will talk about how to design our components using a container and presenter pattern to help us maximize component reuse, while reducing complexity. We will also explore the service with a subject pattern that will allow us to reuse data between components. We will wrap it all up in our demo application that will show you how to bring it all together and apply this to your next project or refactor your existing one.

ABOUT THE PRESENTER:

Jesse Sanders is the founder and CEO of BrieBug, a premier broker of technology solutions. He learned to code BASIC at 13 years old on his TRS80 Color Computer and started as a developer over 20 years ago on the Microsoft stack using VB4. He founded BrieBug in 2009 and has since built a team of talented developers dedicated to delivering cutting-edge enterprise solutions. He is an expert in JavaScript languages, including Angular and React. Jesse received his Google Developer Expert in Angular designation in 2018. When he isn’t busy running a software business, he enjoys skiing and cycling in his home state of Colorado and spending time with his three kids.

PARKING OPTIONS:

There is a parking lot on the South side of Canyon Drive between Broadway and 9th (and also one off of Arapahoe) that gives 1.5 hours free parking if you enter you license plate number in the kiosk. It is free after 7:00 so if you park there just after 5:30 you can park for the rest of the evening for free... just dont forget to enter your LP into the kiosk!

Free street parking South of Arapahoe and West of 9th.

Parking meters downtown are free after 7pm.
