What we’re about
Welcome to the Phoenix Ethnic Lunch Group! This group is all about exploring a variety of ethnic restaurants primarily in the North Phoenix area. The emphasis will be on local family-owned establishments. Generally, these will be smaller groups of 8-12 so we can get to know each other. If you're up for trying out something new - please join us!
By joining our Meetup you agree to the polices we have in place:
1. You are responsible for your own food expense and to check food ingredients for allergies. We are not liable for your health and safety.
2. Have a recognizable profile picture.
3. Annual membership dues are $10.00 to help offset the Meetup Organizer dues and costs associated with running the group. You will have a 30 day trial period prior to being charged.
4. Business networking and promotion of your business is not permitted.
5. Political and religious promotion or advertising is not permitted.
6. This is not a dating site. Please refrain from emailing people you have not met or have not asked permission to contact.
7. We value behavior that "wears well on others" and we reserve the right to remove anyone from membership.
8. Meetup+ members will not be allowed to advance to the top of the waitlist and this group reserves the right to not accept Meetup+ members into the group.
9. No-Show Policy - We make reservations at each restaurant for a specific number of attendees, and since the attendance is kept at a fairly small size we frequently have a waiting list. If you are unable to attend please be courteous and revise your RSVP promptly so as not to be a No-Show. This will also allow someone from the waiting list to join the event. If you are waitlisted and unable to attend please adjust your RSVP as well. After 2 No-Shows you will be removed from the group. If you are moved from the waitlist to "Attend" within 48 hours of the event we will try to contact you directly so you are aware of the change. If you are a new member and No-Show on your first event you will be removed from the group.

See all- Lunch at The Italiano by Chef JoeyThe Italiano Restaurant , Scottsdale , AZ
At The Italiano Chef Joey brings us what New Times calls "Italy meets a dash of Vegas". I went to lunch there recently and we started out with some of the best warm bread I have had in a while! It was very hard not to just fill up on that. Then we split the Caesar Salad, Zucchini Blossoms, and the Short Ribs Lasagna, pictured above (10 layers of delish!!). I have posted a copy of their lunch menu below as well as their happy hour menu if some of you would like to stop in for their all day happy hour another time.
From New Times:
Chef Joey Maggiore’s newest creation, The Italiano, has landed in Scottsdale, tucked just past 90th Street and Shea Boulevard. The simple exterior opens up into a wide and airy interior, befitting the ceilings decked out in fluffy clouds and light blue sky that subtly change colors.Behind the entrance sits a large, bright bar and lounge. The blue and white color palette carries through the restaurant’s decor, even down to the white piano the musician expertly works throughout the night for just the right background music.
Crystal chandeliers hang above the bar and murals depicting Renaissance artwork adorn the back walls. The lounge flows into the dining room and seating beyond with an alfresco feel. The Italiano is a love letter to the Maggiore family's culinary heritage. Maggiore's father, well-known Valley icon Tomaso Maggiore, left his family's home in Bagheria, Sicily, at age 22 to pursue the American dream. He and his brother Augustino moved to New York before Tomaso moved his family to Arizona in 1976. Throughout his restaurants in the U.S., Tomaso shared the food of his homeland and his son Joey has worked to do the same.
