About us
3D Immersive Arts New Mexico explores the fusion of traditional arts -- visual, performance, and literary -- with immersive 3D spaces, both digital and physical. Whether crafted by hand or rendered in software, these artworks surround you. They invite you in. You don't just look at them; you step inside.
Immersive art can involve virtual or augmented reality (such as A Christmas Carol VR), but it doesn’t have to. Think Meow Wolf: giant walk-through worlds built from scratch, layered with story, interactivity, and surprise. Museums and galleries are increasingly embracing this form, blending projections, sculpture, sound, and technology to create whole new realities.
Sometimes the digital and physical worlds converge. For example, Walkabout Mini Golf: Meow Wolf is a VR game that recreates the wild energy of the Santa Fe installation. (After playing it, I drove straight to Meow Wolf in person—I had to see it for real.)

Immersive Art in the Age of Spatial Intelligence: What ChatGPT Can't Do
Ex Novo, 4895 Corrales Rd, Corrales, NM, US(Shared time & place with Spatial Computing – Boxing Bear Brewing, Bridges on Tramway)
ChatGPT can write poems, but it doesn’t understand the concept of space. It has no body, no physics, no real sense of how objects relate in 3D.
That limitation is pushing AI into its next frontier: world models, systems trained on video, 3D scans, and spatial data that simulate physical environments and understand cause-and-effect.
Why this matters for immersive artists:- AI that understands installations as environments
- Tools that can reason about spatial composition
- Real-time adaptive immersive spaces
- Blending generative AI with embodied experience
If immersive art creates experiences people move through, world-model AI aims to help machines move through them too.
This will be an informal, conversation-style meetup, where we think out loud over beverages. No technical background required. Curiosity encouraged.
