What Makes You “You” When Everything Can Be Recreated?

Join us for a thought-provoking conversation on The Crossing: Hosting Human Intelligence in the Age of AI, by our co-organizer and cross-cultural coach Anthony K. Lee.

We’ll explore identity, culture, belonging, and what it truly means to be human in a world increasingly shaped by technology.

This discussion will focus on two powerful chapters from the book:

Chapter 4: The Constructed Self
"Not who you are. But who you appear to be."

What happens when every culture you've lived in leaves its fingerprints on who you are? Is there still a "real" self underneath, or are we the sum of our cultural influences? What remains when labels such as nationality, language, profession, and social roles are stripped away. Who are we beneath the identities we present to the world?

Chapter 10: AI: A Civilization Stress Test
"The machine is not the origin. It is the mirror."

As AI becomes increasingly capable of speaking every language, mirroring cultures, and saying all the right things, what still makes human connection unique? What separates humans from machines identity, culture, and belonging are becoming more complex than ever?
