THIS GROUP IS OPEN TO 45+ "EMPTY NESTER" COUPLES ONLY. SINGLES WHO REQUEST MEMBERSHIP WILL BE REJECTED.
Have your children grown up and moved out and the house has become eerily quiet? Or are you new to the Sunshine coast area? Remember that once the kids are away, the parents are now free to play!
We have created this group specifically for couples who are new to the area or are now child free. Couples who are ready to start their own lives again, finding themselves with time to rediscover the beautiful Sunshine Coast and all it has to offer.
Our aim is to foster friendships by holding a variety of different events every month. Past events have included dinners, lunches, picnics, fishing trips, camping, paddle boarding and hiking. We have had sporting events such as croquet, ten pin bowling and barefoot bowls.
To join this group, simply fill in the questionnaire and request to join. Please use both of your names in your profile name. This helps other members remember who you are. Also, please use a current profile picture of yourselves for easy identification.
We encourage all members to be active in the group and attend as many events as they can. Feel free to organise an event of your own. This takes the pressure off the Organisers!!
Meetup charges us an annual fee so all couples will be asked to contribute to this cost by paying $12/couple once a year. Meetup charges are based on the number of members in the group. The more members there are, the more the annual fee will be. Therefore if you find yourself unable to participate in our events for an extended period of time, please remove yourselves from the group. When the annual fee is close to becoming due we will be contacting inactive members to find out if they want to remain members.

If you join the group and/or are a participant in any of its activities, you agree that you are participating at your own risk, and that no other member of the group or guest will be held responsible for any injury or property loss or damage sustained to you or your guest through your membership or participation in any of the 45+ Empty Nester couples group's activities. Notwithstanding that, all members and guests participating in any of our events ought to be mindful that we are all under a legal duty of care to each other, which obliges us to adhere to all relevant local, state and federal laws at our activities.
