Perl 6 Informal Study Session

Details

This is an informal series of study sessions focused on Rakudo,
aka Perl 6, a break from the past of Perl 5 and one of the
contenders for language of the future.

Let's get together for a few hours on Sunday mornings
over at the Oakland Museum cafe, and start going through one of
the new perl 6 books together. Rather than formal classes this will be
more like an exploratory hackfest with lots of shoulder surfing.
There will be announced readings, but it's up to you how much time
you spend on them before hand.

First reading:

And maybe (this comes with the perl6 code):

Most announced readings will come from the one main "course textbook",
"Perl 6 Fundamentals" by Moritz Lenz. There's a free PDF of this
available here:

https://www.world-of-digitals.com/en/moritz-lenz-perl-6-fundamentals-ebook-pdf

You can also get a print-on-demand copy from Apress for a little over $30:

https://www.apress.com/us/book/9781484228982

And the code examples from it are on github:

At the Blue Oak Cafe the coffee is good and the food is decent,
but there is no wifi, so load-up your laptops in advance (or bring-your-own-internet). You can install perl6 from:
