Dear LegalTech thinkers,

I am excited to announce the first Transforming the Legal Industry with Technology Meetup, taking place next week on Tuesday, 30 August from 7:00pm to 9:00pm at the National Design Centre of Singapore.

The legal industry is being transformed and redefined with the rise of artificial intelligence, self-regulating contracts and robust cloud technologies that are empowering an increasingly mobile workforce.

Our expert panel will take a look at the opportunities and challenges this presents. We aim to share industry and technology insights that will keep you ahead of the game, and proficiencies that will enable you to work smarter.

We are proud to be partnering with General Assembly, Singapore, to bring you this exciting event. Together with The Law Society of Singapore, Rajah & Tann Asia, Legalese, Asia Law Network, INTELLLEX, Dropbox, Microsoft and many more, we look to host leading legal entrepreneurs, technology companies and lawyers to drive the conversation as the industry evolves.

We are extremely fortunate to have a spectacular line-up of experts contributing to the discussion. Learn from industry veterans, established and budding start-up entrepreneurs, and forward-thinking lawyers that are taking on the challenge of changing the landscape of the legal industry.

Discussions will include:

  1. Entrepreneurship and the law (a segue into the skills required for new law graduates to stay ahead)

  2. New and emerging trends in the legal sector: The NewLaw firm vs the Traditional firm service model and its entwined relationship with cloud technology (touching on recent updates by the Monetary Authority of Singapore to the outsourcing guidelines, particularly in cloud computing)

  3. The significance of blockchain (smart contracts) in today's legal framework: A helicopter view on the implications of blockchain technology and the law
