Weekly Open Mic hosted by Da Truth

Details

Busboys and Poets is a community where racial and cultural connections are consciously uplifted… a place to take a deliberate pause and feed your mind, body and soul… a space for art, culture and politics to intentionally collide… we believe that by creating such a space we can inspire social change and begin to transform our community and the world.

Weekly Open Mic:
For two hours, audiences can expect a diverse chorus of voices and a vast array of professional spoken word performers, open mic rookies, musicians and a different host every week. Expect to be moved, expect a packed house, expect the unexpected, but above all come with an open mind and ear.

Cost:
$5.00 + Tax and fees online. $8.00 (tax and fees included) at the door. Wristbands are available for purchase online at midnight and in the restaurant starting at 10:00 AM. No refunds. Ticket purchase limit of 4 per person. Guests must have their wristbands (tickets) on upon entering the event.

About Da Truth:
The equation Situation - Lie +(facts×Reason)= Da Truth. A spoken word artist who is widely known on Baltimore's poetry scene. This Baltimore native has graciously shifted around the east coast projecting pieces that pierce the minds of her listeners. With powerful wordplay, straight talk and humor she exudes a passion to comfort and save souls. However she does so by saying what people are scared to say and fear to listen to, Da Truth!
