Horsetooth Reservoir Morning Paddle

Details

Flat water paddling is one of my greatest passions. I am blessed to live so close to Horsetooth reservoir. I live within 100 yards of the reservoir and 1/2 mile from the Inlet Bay marina and boat ramp.

The morning paddles are open to all skill levels and paddling types (if it takes a paddle to move, it qualifies). Where we go and how hard we exercise is up to those who show up. Beginners are welcome, but please state so when you RSVP (more below).

To circumnavigate Inlet Bay is 2+ miles and at a very leisurely pace it can take 2 hours. If you're up for a workout, I have a favorite 5 mile course that takes 2 hours.

Inlet Bay has eagles. Add ducks, geese, herons, and cormorants to the birds you are likely to see. Foxes and mink can be found on the shoreline, but generally around dawn. Dawn is also when the eagles are most active.

10:00 is departure time from the Inlet Bay boat ramp. Arrive early enough to unload your boats. Arrive even earlier if you need to inflate your boats. I will be there at 9:30 to assist.

You need a Larimer County Parks Pass to get to the boat ramp and park.

Kayaks, paddle boards, and canoes are available for rent from the Marina. Their canoes at $10/hour are a rental bargain and they can be used by 2.

I have 2 spare paddle boards that can also be used as kayaks with seats installed and I have the seats too. I have spare life jackets and paddles as well. All you need to play is the proper clothing and waterproof storage for your phone, etc. If you intend to use one of my boards, please say so when you RSVP so they don't get overbooked.
