RMNP Calypso Cascades Hike (Moderate Difficulty)

MODERATE HIKE

• 3.8 mile up and back/up and down
• 665 feet of elevation gain.
• Thin air: 8485 to 9144 feet above sea level
• Sorry people, no dogs on this one.

We will depart the JAX West Loveland parking lot at 7:30 for several reasons. We need to be in the parking lot before 9AM to avoid a timed entry permit, we will hike in cooler weather, and the trail will be less crowded. Let's meet in the SE corner of the parking lot (close to the intersection).

I am limiting attendance to 8 people. We will probably take 2 cars. From the JAX parking lot, it is a one hour drive to the Wild Basin Trailhead. If you want to drive directly, please let us know so we can arrange for a meet up there.

I'd like to try a post hike picnic/tailgate meal. Sandwiches, salad, fruit, and chips. I'd like feedback on the concept and specifics on what you'd like to eat and where would be a great place to do it. The posted times for the event include transit to and from Loveland and the hike itself. If we stay and eat we will return later.

A parks pass is required to park in the trail head parking lot. I have one. We need at least one more.
