510 Musician Collaborative Open Mic Whirled Tour

Last year, we kicked off the awe inspiring inaugural 510 Musician Collaborative Open Mic Whirled Tour. This year, it’s back. What is it, exactly? For 3 weeks we will be attending as many open mics within a sixty mile radius of Oakland as humanly possible, and there are many. If you are interested in joining in the fun, or know of any open mics you can put on our radar, please RSVP and let us know.

(Disclaimer: Your 510 M.C. emcee is not "hosting" these open mics; they are all operated by the venues and have their own hosts. I am simply trying to facilitate some camaraderie in the music world, and for anyone who may be a bit shy in making that first step on stage, the 510 M.C.'ers present will certainly be there to cheer you on.)

How, you are asking yourself, is this possible for your peripatetic 510 M.C. emcee? Well, I’m free as a bird for almost 3 weeks of glorious There-Ain’t-Nobody-Around-To-Tell-Me-What-To-Do-With-My-Time. So for someone with a lonely guitar and a backlog of never before heard by human ear–other than my human ears–songs, why not hit the road and play as many open mics as possible? It should be a fun series of co-conspiracy music-wise, socializing, ad-hoc jam band step-ins or ups, future collab machinating, and meetings with friends old and new in the great tradition of the open mic circuit.
