Does story play a fundamental role in all the great traditions of inquiry and action, in the practices of a comprehensivist, and in our lives?

Due to the length of the essay (2300 words ≈ a 20 minute read), the event will not have time to explore all its points. Therefore participants are encouraged to read the essay so the event can address any questions they have and any parts they are resisting.

Presentation: CJ Fearnley will explore the question "Is Story Fundamental in Our Lives?"

Breakout: Participants will explore the following questions in a breakout room with a small group of 5-8 participants: Is story fundamental to our basic understandings? Is story fundamental in our great traditions of inquiry and action and in our comprehensivity, our state or quality of learning that is broad and deep? Is story fundamental in our lives? If so, how so? If not, why not?

Presentation: CJ Fearnley will explore the question "What is the Role of Story in Our Lives?"

Q&A: Participants will be invited to ask questions about the subject.

Breakout: Participants will explore the following questions in a breakout room with a small group of 5-8 participants: Did the presentation circumscribe the fundamental role of story? What are the strengths and weaknesses in this characterization of the role of story? What fundamental role, if any, do you think story provides in our great traditions of inquiry and action, in our comprehensivity, and in our lives?

Takeaways and wrap-up. Participants will be invited to share their takeaways from the event. Then CJ and Shrikant will wrap-up.
