DYL: Living as an Art of Balance and Transformation
Details
In this month’s Design Your Life meetup, we will explore Living as an Art of Transformation and Balance, a practical and reflective program grounded in Tai Chi yin yang and the wisdom of the Dao De Jing. Rather than treating balance as something to be forced or optimized, this session approaches it as a gentle, ongoing art that unfolds through natural transformation over time.
The program is structured as a guided presentation followed by a reflective discussion, inviting participants to engage both conceptually and through lived experience. Drawing on classical Daoist insight and Tai Chi principles, we will examine how balance emerges through the dynamic relationship between movement and stillness, effort and rest, clarity and calm.
Designed especially for Western professionals, creatives, and caregivers living with long term responsibilities, the session focuses on sustaining health, creativity, and vitality without withdrawal from everyday life. The discussion portion encourages reflection, dialogue, and integration, helping participants translate these ideas into daily practice in a way that feels grounded and realistic.
We will explore how harmony differs from control, how transformation can be subtle rather than dramatic, and how balance can remain present even as life continues to change. No prior background in Tai Chi or Daoist philosophy is required, only a willingness to reflect, share, and engage thoughtfully with others.
