San Francisco Academy of Science

Since the San Francisco Night Shoot has been cancelled due to rain, here's a nice "rainy day" alternative. Come join me! The Academy is the only place on the planet with an aquarium, a planetarium, a natural history museum, and a 4-story rainforest all under one sustainable and living roof. It’s a stunning architectural achievement with hundreds of unique exhibits and nearly 40,000 live animals. My favorite exhibit is the Rainforests of the World. Visitors enter a geodesic dome into a climate controlled environment. You'll see animals of the Amazon and Madagascar along with colorful birds and butterflies. As you exit at the tops of the 4 story globe, you take a glass elevator to the underside of an Amazon river to view enormous fish through an acrylic tunnel above you. There's parking below the building and of course along the streets. No need ot packa lunch the Academy sports a great cafeteria with a great selection of food and beverages. We'll meet just inside the entrance at 10:30. I'm heading for the Rainforest at 10:45.
