North Georgia hike and wine tasting
Details
We will leave from church at 10:00 am, and carpool up to Raven Cliff Falls, between Dahlonega and Helen. The hike in to the falls is about 2.5 miles, with a gentle uphill gradient. Most of the trail is shaded, and we'll take a moderate pace, getting to the falls in about an hour. After refreshing ourselves at the cooling falls, we will take the easy 2.5 mile walk back to our cars and move on to the winery. Be sure to bring a bottle of water and some light snacks for the trail.
Frogtown Cellars, http://www.frogtownwine.com/ is close to Dahlonega and offers a scenic view of the mountains from their patio. So we'll enjoy the view while tasting their fine wines. They also have a kitchen, so feel free to plan on taking sustenance there, too.
There is no charge for the hike, just the gas to get there and back. Frogtown charges, based on your consumption - they have several options for wine tasting.
