What we're about

801 Labs

is a hackerspace created by the members of

DC801 (http://www.dc801.org/)

that was formerly

TransistorSLC (http://thetransistor.com/category/news/slc-transistor-location/)

. 801 Labs was created to be a center for peer learning and knowledge sharing, in the form of workshops, presentations, and lectures. We also offer social activities to the community and our members, such as game nights and parties. Hackerspaces can be viewed as open community lab incorporating elements of workshops and/or studios where hackers can come together to share resources and knowledge.

Hey Utah biohackers, lets all meet up at the 801 Labs hackerspace and talk about biohacking, socialize, etc! There are a lot of people in Utah who have become interested in biohacking, from the curious to the seasoned multiple implanters. The biohacking community is rapidly expanding, and needs a place and a time to meet up. Biohacking discussions to talk about - Cloning badges (multiple people attending will be able to clone badges) - Low frequency/high frequency implants - LED implants - Tritium implants (semi new and rare) - Experience with getting implanted - Implant technology (DESFire, Mifare, Vivokey, etc) - Proxmark performance - and more! Also, please join the 801Labs Slack, and especially check out the #biohacking channel. https://slack.801labs.org/

Linux Night - 'Hardening Your Linux Security with Hardware' by Hydroplane

Learn how you can use hardware security devices (like: Yubikeys, U2F/FIDO2, Hardware Cryptocurrency Wallets, Nitrokeys, etc) to improve your Linux security. by Hydroplane (@chrismchopkins) We're going to do Linux Night twice per month. *The first Tuesday of every month will be a presentation about a specific topic, presented by one of our members. Following the presentation, members are welcome to stay and work on projects or trade knowledge with others. *The third Tuesday of every month will be kind of a Linux community night, where members can come present lightning talks about something interesting they've learned, ask questions, and/or work on Linux projects. This is meant to be more of a community knowledge-sharing opportunity. These events will always be free and open to the public (I mean... it's Linux... duh). Linux Night will primarily focus on Linux, but presentations and projects may be something related to Linux, for instance software commonly run in Linux such as apache, docker, openvas, etc. We may also work with other Unix-like systems, such as the various BSD distros. If you are interested in learning about a particular topic, or if you would like to present on something, please contact me (duzzy) and we'll figure out a good time for it.
