Al Sheppard, an 81-year-old music enthusiast, is opening up his extensive record collection (the second-largest in Ohio) to Sotto Terra as a part of the speakeasy’s new “Way Back Wednesdays.”
Sheppard will serve as the lounge’s DJ, spinning 45s from as early as 1949 to rock’n’roll albums from the 1980s. “You won’t hear this music every day on the radio,” says Sheppard of his unique record collection. “It’s not necessarily music you can dance to.” Guests will experience a curated music selection from Sheppard as they sit back, relax (or get up and dance) and enjoy an evening cocktail amidst a sexy, 1940s lounge atmosphere.
Sotto Terra’s “Way Back Wednesdays” will occur every Wednesday from 6-9pm. Guests can indulge in specialty craft cocktails and experience the speakeasy’s new fall menu displayed in print, not a QR code.
