8LU Keynote w/ Gary Fredericks - Computationology: the Good Weird Parts

Details

Join us Friday, May 10th for an 8th Light University keynote presentation by Gary Fredericks!

Computationology: the Good Weird Parts

---

SCHEDULE:

12:15 - 12:30: Lunch Service
12:30 - 1:30: Presentation
1:30: Questions/Networking

ABOUT THE TALK:

Sometimes exploring a simple question can give rise to an absurd amount of mathematical structure. This talk will show how one question, namely what problems can computers solve, results in a rich and surprising variety of structures well beyond P vs NP and the halting problem.

SPEAKER:

Gary Fredericks is a professional adultperson who works for people who want to have somebody write their computercodes, and sometimes does talks like this one. He doesn't have the slightest idea how a water pump works. Like, is there a little water wheel in there or something? What's going on?

---

Lunch will be provided by 8th Light (https://8thlight.com/).

We will be live streaming the event via Zoom (https://zoom.us/j/3541015445).
