Introduction to Asynchronous Web Programming with Scala and the Play FrameworkNon-blocking and asynchronous programming is all the rage these days, and functional programming isn't far behind. We'll take a look at a simple non-blocking Node.js application, identify a problem, and see how the problem can be solved in Scala, a functional programming language, with the Play Framework, a web framework for Scala. This topic is meant to be an introduction into Scala and Play by allowing you to passively see a few features that might pique your interest. - Dustin Whitney @dustinwhitney (https://twitter.com/dustinwhitney)

Change How You Change - Functional Reactive Programming in Javascript.Code is written to produce value from the certainty of change by making changes. Whether its high-volume change in Node.js or highly-disparate change in the browser, Javascript development is about mapping one change to another. Modeling change, which is constant, as discrete events is hard. We'll look at how change itself can be modeled using Functional Reactive Programming and how it could make our lives a little easier. - Charles @charleskreps (https://twitter.com/charleskreps)

Keep your Promises ... in the Browser and in Node.jsPromises help you to keep in check your asynchronous code by giving it structure and making error handling manageable without resorting to ugly "if" statements. - Franco Ponticelli @fponticelli (https://twitter.com/fponticelli)

Please use the board if you have questions or suggestions.
