In response to the biggest health crisis in recent memory, proper precautions and accommodations need to be made in order to provide aid to everyone. For people with disabilities this means constant contact with the community, accessible communications and services to address their biggest needs. Join the Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities for an update on NYC's COVID-19 response for people with disabilities and for information in how you can get involved.

Presenter Bios

Walei Sabry is the Digital Accessibility Coordinator at the NYC Mayor’s Office for People with Disabilities. Born in Egypt and raised in New York, Walei has had significant transitions in his life. First from one country to another and then through varying degrees of vision. As the Digital Accessibility Coordinator, Walei makes sure that the City of New York's digital products can be accessed by all. Whether it’s by conducting website audits, providing staff awareness trainings or representing the disability community in his everyday life, wherever he goes, Walei is constantly changing perceptions one situation at a time.

Jonathan Novick is the Outreach Manager of the NYC Mayor's Office for People with Disabilities. He creates media content to support office initiatives and events, manages their website and social media and provides frequent presentations on office policies and resources.
