Join us in a sharp departure from traditional investing to learn about investing for a steady income stream. Andy Prophet will walk through common tools and techniques used by income investors to build and manage a portfolio. Since most AAII members are self-directed investors near or at retirement, learning how to set up a portfolio, minimize risk and grow income can be critical to a comfortable retirement.

Andy Prophet is longtime student of investing, a retiree and a member of AAII for over 28 years. He previously was a member of our chapter board and presented and organized income investing programs for our chapter. To help, he draws on his management experience in business and engineering to construct a plan.

We're trying something new...

Our May speaker on Income Investing, Andy Prophet, will be presenting live from Portland. Not to worry -- you'll still have full capability to interact with Andy.

• Andy will be live, on camera (at least at times!), and Andy will be in presenting in real-time

• We'll have copies of Andy's slides (as normal!) and Andy will control the flow of his presentation from Portland

• You'll be able to interact with Andy, ask questions, etc. -- we'll just hand you the mic and you can ask away!

So why are we doing this??

• Sadly, it's just a fact of life that many firms/speakers don't have the time or budget to fly cross-country to present to a (relatively) small crowd.

• Also, the chapter has a (very) limited speaker travel budget to bring speakers in.

• End result: Having remote-speaker capability will allow the chapter to offer more nationally known firms and speakers.

So come join Andy as we usher in a new era for the chapter. And, just to be clear, our second speaker, Andrew Houghton of Delta Investment Management, will be physically present at the event.
