What we're about

Are you an adult with an Asperger/Autism profile (diagnosed or not) who wants to meet other adults in our community? If so, please join our group!

Though we originally intended to just offer in person events in the Greater Boston area and still plan to do so at some point (see below), we are currently offering Virtual Events until it is safe to resume. You are welcome to join the group no matter where you live.

*Please be aware that in order to attend an event, you need to RSVP for it after you join the meetup group*

FOR MEMBERS IN THE BOSTON AREA:

Feel free to join our Outdoors Enthusiasts Club!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
About once a month, we will host a meetup to attend a local (non-AANE) event. This might include a talk or performance at a library or bookstore, a comedy show or an evening at a board game cafe. We intend to initially pick events that are free to attend, though in the future we may add paid ticketed events as well. If there's interest, we may offer the same events on a regular basis, giving you the chance to see the same faces and make connections more easily.
All events will be attended by an AANE Host who will be the point of contact at the event.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The Asperger/Autism Network (AANE) helps people with Asperger's or similar autism spectrum and neurodiverse profiles build meaningful, connected lives. We provide individuals, families, and professionals with information, education, community, support, and advocacy — all in an inclusive atmosphere of validation and respect.

Modern and Ancient Science, Philosophy and Consciousness (Zoom) Discussion Group

Link visible for attendees

For eons human beings have contemplated deep questions about life, nature, and the universe. We explore the answers given by modern and ancient science, philosophy and consciousness.

Is there some hidden purpose to life, a secret design, a meaningful logic, a goal to reach? Why are we here? Where do we come from and where do we go after we leave? Are we each on our own path with our own concerns and our own individual and independent fate? For what should we be striving? Is it health, happiness, making money, being better than others, fulfilling the will of a divine being? Can we choose? Are we free, or slaves of destiny; governed or looked after by some force, laws of nature, or God; or living in a chaotic universe, tossed around by situations and circumstances? What is the source of evil?

Nader, Tony. One unbounded ocean of consciousness (p. 11). Penguin Random House Grupo Editorial Argentina. Kindle Edition.

We meet at 4 PM immediately following the Science and Technology group on the same Zoom link. Once you RSVP, you will receive the link.
