Mountain View: Scalable and Incremental LTO with ThinLTO

Details

This month, Mehdi Amini and Teresa Johnson will reprise their presentation (https://llvmdevelopersmeetingbay2016.sched.org/event/8YzT) from the 2016 LLVM Developers' Meeting.

Link-Time Optimization (LTO) is a powerful build scheme that provides the compiler with more opportunity to optimize your code, and can get you the extra 5%, 10%, or 15% for the application where it really matters. However its adoption has been limited by the large overhead at build time. ThinLTO is a new compiler framework to perform Link-Time Optimization in a fully scalable way.
