About us

Welcome to the Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s Meetup! This Meetup is sponsored by the Narragansett Chapter of the Appalachian Mountain Club (Joining this Meetup Group does not automatically make you an AMC member).

Our trip leaders host local hikes, bike rides, and social events aimed at outdoorsy 20-40ish years old. We offer activities throughout RI and surrounding areas both after work and on the weekends. Joining a YM activity is a great way to make new friends and explore the area's natural beauty.

The purpose of our Meetup is to introduce others to the wonderful outdoor opportunities offered by the AMC Narragansett Chapter Young Members 20s/30s. As a Meetup member, you have no obligation to join the AMC.But, if you enjoy participating in our events, we hope you will consider joining the AMC (https://www.outdoors.org/join-today?chapter=NA&campaign=70150000001EMs5AAG).

Please, only RSVP if you plan on attending the event. For the consideration of our leaders, we ask that you contact us if you have RSVP'ed and can no longer attend.

Our events are led by highly qualified, trained AMC volunteers who are always concerned about safety. They take every precaution to assure participant risk is minimized and fun is maximized.

Description: Join us for a fall hiking adventure at Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary in Sharon, Massachusetts, where the beauty of autumn transforms the forest into a landscape of golden leaves, fiery reds, and deep shades of orange. As the air turns crisp and the days grow shorter, we’ll head into the woods to enjoy one of those simple outdoor experiences that remind us why we love spending time in nature.
With nearly 2,000 acres of protected natural landscape and approximately 20 miles of trails, Moose Hill offers a wonderful setting to explore a mix of peaceful woodlands, open fields, wetlands, and scenic forest paths. As we make our way through the sanctuary, we’ll have the opportunity to enjoy the changing foliage, listen to the sounds of the forest, look for signs of wildlife, and take in the quiet atmosphere that makes autumn hiking so special. This is more than just a walk in the woods. It’s an opportunity to step away from the usual routine, get some fresh air, meet fellow outdoor enthusiasts, share conversations along the trail, and enjoy the kind of day that doesn’t need much more than good company, comfortable hiking shoes, and a beautiful place to explore. Whether you come for the fall colors, the peaceful surroundings, the photography opportunities, or simply the joy of being outdoors, there’s something special about experiencing the forest together during this time of year.
We’ll explore the sanctuary at a comfortable group pace, taking time to appreciate the scenery and enjoy the journey along the way.
🥾 What to bring: Comfortable hiking shoes or trail footwear. Water and snacks to keep you energized. Weather-appropriate layers, as autumn temperatures can change throughout the day. A positive attitude and a willingness to enjoy the outdoors with the group!
