Hello Gwen,
My name is Miguel, and I am curious as to how to get my two grandsons, Dominic and Angelo  ( The Pizarro Brothers) who are pianist into the recitals or house concerts.
I’m not sure if your recitals are mainly classical or all genres.
They both  have  been performing on two pianos or keyboards together for years. Their main repertoire is from The Great American Songbook.

Thank you . I look forward to hearing from from you.

Sincerely
Miguel Pizarro

Dear Gwen and everyone in the AmateurPianists group!

Hello! I wish to goodness that I could attend that Latin music recital! Unfortunately, I'm living and working in Japan. When I signed up for this group I wasn't aware of it being based in San Diego, so color me stupid for that!

I've been teaching English in Japan for (too) many years and only wish that I could find a way back to the States. I've often read of how nice a place San Diego is. I remember reading once that something like three out of every Navy captains choose to retire in San Diego. I guess it must be a pretty great place to live in!

I'll be 59 in a couple months and don't really have any “skill sets” to speak of, unfortunately. Beyond teaching English to Japanese people--mostly as an assistant teacher in junior high school classes--for too many years, I haven't really done much of anything else. I'd love to find a way for my wife and I to relocate to the States, but we'd both have to be able to make a living somehow. Any suggestions? Getting this recital notices from the San Diego AmateurPianists group makes me wish I were in the San Diego area and could take part in those recitals! I've been playing the piano since I was twelve, and although I'm not a gifted pianist, I'm crazy about the piano and have “boatloads” of music! It'd be a dream come true to be able to live in San Diego and be able to participate in all those amateur pianist recitals!

So any suggestions would really be appreciated!

In any case, good luck to all of you taking part in the recital--I hope you enjoy your performances! I wish I could be there to hear you!

All the best to everyone,

Mark Porter

P.S. I have a YouTube channel that has some of my piano playing efforts on it. The “videos” are audio-only, but you might enjoy hearing some of the pieces. Here's the link for it: https://www.youtube.com/user/Radiatoron88
