Our new Monthly Happy Cafe invites you to find out more about Action for Happiness (AfH) and the scientifically proven 10 Keys to Happier Living. This is a great opportunity to connect with others and explore how you can make your own life happier and perhaps also create more happiness in the community you live in. Our aim is to spread happiness and joy - and help each other find ways to live our best possible life, whatever that might mean to you.

What we're about

This is the Meetup site for the Brighton-based local group of Action for Happiness ( ( - a global movement of people taking action to create a happier society. For for more details about the Brighton group see .

Our events include monthly meetings (talks or workshops) at the Latest Bar, two weekly Happy Cafes, and a weekly book club. We also run the 8-week course on Happiness, 'Exploring What Matters' about twice per year - look out for this as a listed event.

You can drop in to most of our events.

For events that could become busy or booked up, please click on to the RSVP at the site. If you RSVP to an event but realise you cannot come, it would be appreciated if you would remove your RSVP at least 24 hours before the event to free up your space for someone else. If not, we will count this as a 'no show'. In the interests of fairness to all concerned we keep a record of no shows and will remove members with 3 'no shows' unless of course they can demonstrate there was good reason for their 3 "no shows".


We all want to live happy and fulfilling lives and we want the people we love to be happy too. So happiness matters to all of us.

Happiness is about our lives as a whole: it includes the fluctuating feelings we experience everyday but also our overall satisfaction with life. It is influenced by our genes, upbringing and our external circumstances - such as our health, our work and our financial situation. But crucially it is also heavily influenced by our choices - our inner attitudes, how we approach our relationships, our personal values and our sense of purpose.

Action for Happiness works to support evidence based practices and theories that support well being.
