Join us for a special Immersive Design Week weekend ADG! The entire week(ish) of Feb 20 - Mar 1 is jammed with great events, which you can check out at https://www.immersivedesignweek.com/

We're very pleased to announce our frequent host at The Magic Patio, Andrew Evans, will be delivering a very special presentation as part of Immersive Design Week 2020. In 2014, Andrew Evans (The Magic Patio, Harry Potter and The Cursed Child, IDEO) transformed his apartment's back yard patio into an outdoor magic theater. After 4 years of sold out shows and a few strong words from the city permit office, The Magic Patio @themagicpatio has been reimagined in a new - still secret - indoor location hidden behind a custom-built candy shop in SF's Mission/Bernal district. In this presentation/performance, Andrew will share a few of his signature illusions followed by a look into the creation of The Magic Patio and how principles of magic can be used to shape experiences beyond the stage.

A few important notes about the event/venue:

Capacity: We have more RSVPs for this event than we have seats, and will have to cap attendance at 65 to comply with the rules of the venue. Please arrive on time to ensure admission.

Address: 3264 Mission St, SF CA, 94110. It's not officially marked, but the red curtains in the windows will let you know you're in the right spot.

Attire: Anything you'd like, but please avoid wearing high heels. They don’t get along with the small gaps between our 100-year-old floorboards.

Sweets: We have partnered with Giddy Candy to offer a range of unique confections available for sale in our lobby before and after the show.

Travel: If traveling by car, street parking in the surrounding neighborhoods is your best bet. There is also a Bank of America parking lot nearby with limited availability. If traveling by rail, the 24th and Mission BART stop is the closest station.

The Neighborhood: The Magic Patio is fortunate to be located in an amazing, often overlooked, part of San Francisco. There are fantastic places to eat and drink before or after the show. In particular, Blue Plate, Emmy's Spaghetti Shack, Front Porch, Ichi Sushi, Pizza Hacker, Raki Raki Ramen and Taqueria Cancun for food. El Rio, Rock Bar, Royal Cuckoo, and Virgil's for drinks. Outer Orbit for food, drinks, and pinball. If you go to any of these places, feel free to tell them you are a guest of the Magic Patio (not that it will get you anything, but you can still tell them).

See you this evening!
