Christmas Change Dojo

A Change Dojo (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dojo) is a safe place where Change Agents come together to share their experiences with and learn from other Change Agents.

The primary goal for this event will be to review our change efforts this year, discuss our transformational blunders, and explore what has worked and what hasn't. This will help us create a roadmap for our group events for 2017, and also initiate a conversation about the required mindset for transformational projects.

We will be applying Negative Brainstorming a problem solving technique that uses reverse thinking to allow a group to explore a complex subject matter and identify its major risk/problem areas. It is a good technique to try when it is difficult to identify solutions to a problem directly, as it is often the case with change projects.

This event will follow the following Open Space rules:

1. Whoever comes are the right people -. We will share and learn from each others’ experience, and each of us has lived transformation projects in one way or another. Each personal perspective is valuable and represents not just an individual experience but a voice for anyone who has been in that situation.

2. Whatever happens is the only thing that could've - We are all limited by our own pasts and expectations. This principle acknowledges we'll all do our best to focus on NOW-- the present time and place-- and not get bogged down in what could've or should've happened.

3. When it starts is the right time -The creative spirit has its own time, and our task is to make our best contribution and enter the flow of creativity when it starts. Each of us can direct the conversation where we think it will contribute the most value.

4. When it's over, it's over and time to prepare for Christmas :-)

Also, as it’s Christmas time and our first event, we will be adding a little festive twist. Below is a tentative agenda for the evening.
