No! absolutely not, but Scrum may by now be like a pair of old walking boots shaped by many cross-country journeys and unexpected challenges.

We are looking back at about 25 years of Scrum history with today's announcement of the most recent version of the Scrum guide, brought to us by the originators of Scrum: Ken Schwaber and Jeff Sutherland.

These software veterans presented Scrum at the OOPSLA conference in 1995 after experimenting with it for some years.

Nothing much happened until the publication of the seminal book โ€œAgile software development with Scrumโ€ in 2002, where the Scrum journey really started.

In this online follow-up webinar, we cursorily trace the history and impact of Scrum, and how it has developed over the years. This includes the development of the Scrum Guide (SG) over the years. The authors still call this document โ€œThe Definitive Guide to Scrumโ€.

The real meat of the session is however to try and pinpoint the true usefulness of Scrum today in its basic form as presented in the Scrum Guide and the more elaborate extension catering for other scenarios than those catered for by the Guide.

We will highlight a number of important points in the Scrum Guide.

There will be some online challenges and opportunities for discussing highlighted items.

We round off by explaining why we have created the extended framework ๐—”๐—ด๐—ถ๐—น๐—ฒ ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ป ๐—Ÿ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—ฑ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ต๐—ถ๐—ฝ to cater for the whole organization and an overview of what it is. Scrum may be our trusted old walking boots, and a necessity for a journey towards radical improvement, but there is more to a journey than good walking.

Join us for an interesting hour and half.
