This group is operated by the Adirondack Mtn. Club - Albany-Schenectady Chapter (4/12/2023).
We are a very active local group dedicated to conservation, advocacy, recreation, education and stewardship of New York's wilderness areas. We sponsor a wide range of outdoor activities ranging from hiking, backpacking, padding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing to educational programs, monthly meetings and social events for people who love the outdoors. ADK Evening Paddle Kiwanis Park, Mohawk River

Be on the water BEFORE 5:30pm. Plan to arrive at least 15-30 minutes ahead of launch time. We begin paddling promptly at 5:30pm.
Take Exit 1A off I-890 to Rt. 5S in Rotterdam, then take a right into Kiwanis Park soon after leaving the highway ramp.We will paddle up or down stream depending on the conditions.
Please sign-up at auntmayor@aol.com by noon on the day of the paddle and give your cell phone number for last minute changes, which will be announced via text if conditions change.
You must wear a securely fastened PFD, and have a white light and whistle (required!). NO cotton clothing. See General Paddling info for evening paddling trips.

Be on the water BEFORE 5:30pm.Plan to arrive at least 15-30 minutes ahead of launch time. We begin paddling promptly at 5:30pm.
From the Northway, drive west on Rt. 7 for 4.5 miles and take a right on Mohawk Rd. Take a Left on Rosendale Rd for a short distance, and take a right on Lock 7 Rd. As you approach the lock, bear left to the boat launch.
We will paddle upstream past high cliffs and interesting rock formations.

Take Route 5 East of Scotia from the west end of I-890. Turn left and go to the intersection of Route 103 across from Stewart's and turn left and IMMEDIATELY right for the entrance to the park. Drive down the hill to the launch area.
We will paddle upriver above the lock.

From Waterford, drive west on Rt. 97 and take a left onto Flight Lock Rd. Drive past Lock 6 to the boat launch at Canal Park at road's end.
We will paddle upstream and around the islands.
Rentals available from Upstate Kayak Rental during the Upstate season. Contact them to make arrangements, at least a day before the paddle. Note: this may be past their season.
