2022 Cottonwood Pass Milky Way Workshop

Join Lars Leber, and PPA Master Photographers Dave Soldano and Ken Childress for our adventure to Cottonwood Pass to photograph the Milky Way arching over the iconic switchback at the top of the pass.

We will help you setup and then we will drive a car up and down the road so that you can create your own version of the above image.

After capturing the switchback, we will journey along the pass road to a perfect spot to capture a beautiful Milky Way panorama over a classic tree stand, plus a couple other fun and dramatic compositions.

A fun, full night of capturing fantastic Milky Way images you'll be proud to share and hang in your home.

We will meet at a location in Buena Vista, load up, and drive to Cottonwood Pass.

As always, we will provide you with a guide to your camera settings and shooting tips and assist you at the shoot site. We will be hosting a Zoom class for post-processing an image from the night on Sunday, June 26, 2022, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.

2022 Independence Pass Milky Way Workshop

Join Lars Leber and PPA Master Photographer Ken Childress for our Milky Way adventure along Independence Pass. It will be a fun, full night of capturing fantastic Milky Way images you'll be proud to share and hang in your home.

This workshop is a two-part adventure:
1st - We will be trekking to the top of Independence Pass to photograph the Milky Way reflecting in the summit ponds. We will also photograph the Milky Way in various compositions around the summit.
2nd - We will be moving down the pass and capturing the Milky Way over Independence Ghost Town. There, we will illustrate low level lighting techniques to create foregrounds that add dramatic impact to your images.

We will meet at a location in Buena Vista, then caravan to the top of the pass. If you’d rather ride, there will be seats available in our vehicles or you can make arrangements to car pool with another attendee at the meeting location.
