The OWASP (Open Web Application Security Project) non-profit international organization has been around since 2001. From the start, many sub-projects have been created that have focused on application security, primarily web security, but there have been many other topics of focus over the years: threat modeling, mobile, IoT, testing, etc. Some of the more famous projects have been: Top Ten, Application Security Verification Standard, Top Ten Proactive Controls, etc.
This week, June 12-16, is the international OWASP Summit 2017 taking place in London, UK: https://owaspsummit.org . This is a summit that has taken place every few years to coordinate many of the best security talent in the world in one place to help shape the next projects and modify the existing or future OWASP pages. Robert is a remote participant this week.
This session will cover what is OWASP, many of the popular and new projects, and provide an update on what's going with the OWASP Summit mid-week.
