World Usability Day 2023: Collaboration and Cooperation

Details

World Usability Day is an annual event aiming to promote the values of usability, usability engineering, user-centered design, universal usability, and every user's responsibility to ask for things that work better.

The theme of 2023 is Collaboration and Cooperation. In order to solve the world’s biggest problems, we all have to work together. We will bring to the spotlight projects that bring together two groups, from different organizations, different points of view, different locations to solve a problem that one or both are facing.

We've brought 2 amazing short-form talks together that fit into this theme:

1. Collaboration in Global Teams: Communication Beyond Borders by Angelina Severino, Brand and Product Design Lead at Gamgee.

In a rapidly evolving global context and the prevalence of remote work, there is an increasing demand for effective and seamless teamwork across diverse geographical and cultural divides. Angelina will delve into the importance of clear communication, cultural sensitivity, and leveraging technology to unite global teams. You will learn to bridge time zone differences, build trust, and adapt to change, all while maintaining a shared vision for successful project outcomes. The talk underscores the value of continuous learning and skill development in the ever-evolving landscape of global collaboration.

2. Easy Donations at ING - Short story of a ‘purpose’ driven collaboration by Pragam Rathore, Design Lead for digital sales & engagement.

Pragam will tell us about the role of collaboration in bringing to life a new functionality ‘Easy Donation’ allowing ING’s customers to make one time donation to a charity of choice easily from their banking app. It brought together three different organizations, with different business objectives but with a common purpose to help people in Netherlands contribute for the betterment of the society. Pragam will share what the work setup looked like, what made this collaboration a success and what role design played in its success.
