Welcome to Analyze Boulder 18! Get ready for winter recreating - in the mountains or on the couch.
As always, great beer on tap (courtesy of our Startup Colorado Community Fund Grant) from Vindication Brewing.
Here are the descriptions for tonight's presentations:
Powder meteorologist and Open Snow founder Joel Gratz will show us how to forecast powder days by using spaghetti charts and orographic lift.
Greg Pfeil will present a tool for backcountry planning that overlays precise avalanche risk on slopes, recommends safe areas, and points you to the relevant guidebooks. It combines GIS datasets with Google Maps and uses Kimono to collect forecasts from various avalanche centers around the world.
Nick Betts will discuss the differences between expected outcomes of NFL onside kicks and 2pt conversions, and the infrequent use of them by coaches (and some of the reasons why they under utilize them).
