Welcome to Analyze Boulder 65!

Analyze Boulder is a community of data geeks who live, work, and play in Boulder, Colorado.

The first Wednesday of every month, our members give fast, accessible, high-energy TED-style talks once a month on any data topic. Contact us (http://speakers.analyzeboulder.com/) if you want to present at a future event.

We start with social time / beer from 6-6:30pm, followed by the live event, and then we stick around and chat over beers afterwards. You can also join the event via our live stream (see below).

Please bring cash to contribute for beer. The evening's speaker lineup:

Andrew Brodskey walks us through the world of politics and fundraising from an analytical perspective. Have you ever wondered if campaign funding is the most important factor in election results? What other things might we consider when predicting election outcomes? Join us to find out what Andrew's uncovered.

Kiersten Clingersmith is a hedgehog owner. And not just any hedgehog, but Speckles, the ever-energetic hedgehog. Kiersten connected an IoT device to Speckle's wheel to dig into exactly how much hedgehogs run when in captivity. We're all crossing our fingers from a guest appearance by Speckles!

At work, Kirk DeLisle faced a pretty tough challenge: needing to quickly evaluate very large collections (100s to 1000s) of chemical compounds. Instead of laboring through the process again and again, he used self organizing maps to make this work easier. He's taken what he built and scaled it too; now he analyzes not just 1000s of compounds, but is now in the millions.
