What we’re about
Meetup group for Android developers in Budapest. Join our events, learn more about Android development from great talks, and meet other developers in the local community.
Got a topic to talk about? We're happy to have you! Please note that the context (pun intended) should be relevant for Android developers (but doesn’t have to be strictly about development). Native is preferred over cross-platform, but if you have a good topic about the latter, do not hesitate to submit!
We would like to ask presenters to have the talks in English to be able to reach as many people as possible. Please prepare your presentation to last 30 minutes.
But what's important is that if you have an idea for a talk, but you feel afraid of public speaking, don't be! We would like to ask the members of the community to be inclusive and non-judgemental. When in doubt, refer to our Code of Conduct!

See all- Android Budapest February 2025Károly krt. 11, Budapest
Back from our winter hibernation, we are ready for another year of Android meetups! Join us for our next event to learn more about Android and meet fellow developers in person again.
As usual, we’ll have two great talks to set the mood for the conversations of the evening. We'll have Tom returning to uncover the magic of Gradle, and Attila will share his experience about using Compose Multiplatform on iOS.
📜 Schedule:
18:00 - 18:30: Gathering and socializing
18:30 - 19:00: First talk
19:00 - 19:20: Break
19:20 - 19:50: Second talk
19:50 - : More socializing!—
🔷 Gradle, the Ultimate Delegator - Tom Koptel
Did you wonder about the magic that Gradle introduces and how it works? Well, you are not alone. In this talk, we will cover different topics and quirks related to using Gradle as our build tool. How do Gradle scripts get configured? How can you centralize dependencies across multi-project builds? How can you debug third party plugins (e.g. the Android Gradle Plugin)? How can you debug your own custom plugin? We'll look at all that, and a few common dos and don'ts in Gradle.
🔷 Compose Multiplatform in Practice: Integrating iOS Libraries - Attila Polacsek
Compose by itself is a complete UI framework, providing easy ways to create custom UI elements and design systems. However, sooner or later you will need to integrate UI elements that do not have Multiplatform equivalents.
In this talk, we will discuss how to do it with a simple animation library, but the same principles apply to more complex elements like camera previews or maps. We will cover everything from adding platform specific dependencies to creating the groundwork in common code to actual platform-specific implementations.
