Next meetup is July 30; returning to main meetups in August

We hope you've been enjoying the weather and summer fun so far. As much fun as the beach is, we haven't figured out how to pull off a Meteor meetup at one.

So while we were able to pull off three days at Meteor Camp NYC 2016, we've struggling this month to find space and organizers for Office Hours and Hack Night. And rather than continue scheduling and then canceling, we've decided to look to what we can commit to for the rest of the month.

Office Hours

Office Hours on 7/30 at CourseHorse. Justin will be away, and Dakoda will run the event in his absence.

In August, we'll return with bi-weekly weekend Office Hours. If you have or know of space where we can host this event on Saturdays, please reply to this email to let us know. Justin has been terrific working with CourseHorse, but we'll need an alternate or secondary location for when we can't meet there.

Office space or coffee shops with power and wifi are good candidates; we have about 15-20 members max showing up at a time, so the space should be sized for at least that many. If you have any other suggestions, please include them in the email.

DevShop returns in August. There, we'll provide a recap on Meteor Camp NYC 2016. I think those of you who attended would agree that it was exciting to see some of the leading contributors to the community as well as those who traveled far and wide to be there.

If you have been working with Meteor 1.3 and have something to share, please fill out the Speaker Form. We look for beginner experiences, product demonstrations, technical insights, and related technology discussion that advance our understanding of MeteorJS and help the community grow. Please consider speaking and sharing. We look to former speakers to participate at Meteor Camp NYC and will do so again for 2017.

Hack Night

Hack Night will return in August. Priceline is unable to host us this summer. If you know someplace where we could meet for this event, please send us an email.

We'll see you at the next meetup. Let us know if you have any questions, comments or concerns.
